Parking tips

Looks like we'll have a solid table of at least six with: Andrew, Bill, Danny, John, Joe, Kerry. Others welcome!

Parking is always tricky on Capitol Hill, but here are a few tips.

Parking is easy during the afternoon, when there are always spots to be found nearby, but gets increasingly scarce into the evening. So one option is to get here early, park at your leisure, and have dinner on Capitol Hill before the game. Lots of good places to eat on Broadway!

Good places to look for spaces are on Thomas, and along Melrose, one block west of Bellevue. Then from there, zigzag up the hill towards Broadway.

The nearest place where there is always parking available is down on Lakeview Blvd E, and this is my own parking of last resort. From there you have to schlepp back up the hill via Belmont and Bellevue, but in my experience if you can't find anything after ten minutes driving around, this is probably the best option.

The other bail-out option is to pay for parking. The nearest pay parking lot is under the Broadway Market, entrance on Harrison, five blocks away. There are also two small parking lots on either side of Melrose near Pine St, not far away. Next in terms of proximity is next to the Link station at 1827 Broadway, and from there it's about a ten-minute walk to my apartment.
